Germany has no shortage of jaw-dropping, gorgeous models. Just take a look at Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum, or Diane Kruger – even at an older age, they can slay on any runway. It comes as no surprise that many German models partner up with athletes. Such is the case with Sarah Brandner, Scarlett Gartmann, and the star of this particular article: Ann-Kathrin Götze (née Brömmel).
On Her Personal Life and Career
Some people may be confused about Ann-Kathrin’s real name, and who can blame them? She was born with the Brömmel surname, but she’s sometimes referred to as Ann-Kathrin Vida in her professional endeavors. Not to mention the pseudonym she went by as a singer – Trina B. So yeah, it’s confusing! Now, though, she’s simply Ann-Kathrin Götze.
So who is she beyond the name? Well, she’s a model, designer, and singer. Her career as a model started when she was just 16 years old, and she’s currently represented by Swiss agency Metro Models GmbH. She’s definitely much more well-known as a model, as she’s been the face of many major companies. Included in her modeling portfolio are Lascana (lingerie), Axe (body spray), Lancome (cosmetics), and Lambertz (chocolate). She’s also graced the pages of GQ and FHM. In 2012, she tried her hand participating in Germany’s Next Top Model. She didn’t make it far, but it’s not like she needed the TV exposure to further her career anyway!
Before she dove into the modeling world, she had training in singing, ballet, and piano. This exposure to the arts may be what fueled her to pursue a career in singing as well. She released a few singles under the Trina B. stage name and she has done a few covers for songs from Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Eartha Kitt.
Her early ballet training may have been part of the reason why she landed a spot on the 10th season of Let’s Dance (Germany’s version of Dancing with the Stars). However, it wasn’t really enough to take her to the top of the competition as she only placed 10th.
Apart from her professional achievements, she’s also an activist for animal welfare. In 2017, she took part in a PETA campaign against the wearing of animal fur.
FUN FACT: Ann-Kathrin was the voice behind Francine, the female sloth character in the animated movie Ice Age: Collision Course. It was the German version, of course!
On Her Love Life
Ann-Kathrin Götze is no stranger to being in the spotlight alongside famous partners. At 18 years old, she dated German musician Tom Kaulitz for about a year. After that, she moved on to dating athletes and had a short relationship with German goalie Manuel Neuer.
In July 2012, she and current beau Mario Götze started dating despite his being three years her junior. Early on in their relationship, Ann-Kathrin said that though they’re young, she would love to someday be married. 5 years after they started dating, her dream started to come true. Mario proposed in June 2017 and they officially tied the knot in a secretive civil ceremony in May of 2018.
No news of a little Götze yet, but we’re definitely waiting excitedly for that to come along! I’m pretty sure that Ann-Kathrin’s 1 million and Mario’s 8.7 million Instagram followers are waiting as well.
Check out Ann-Kathrin’s Instagram here and her YouTube channel here! She has 31 thousand subscribers on YouTube despite having only 4 videos. Her videos are interesting though as they chronicle everyday moments in her life – except much classier moments than yours or mine, I’m sure. You can also check out Mario’s Instagram here.
