First rule: Don’t talk about the Fight Club.
Second rule: Except when it’s in the NBA.
Because no one loves a scuffle more than we do.
In tonight’s Cavaliers vs. Raptors game, suffice to say the 3rd quarter ended on a bit of a rough note. Serge Ibaka threw the first punches at Marquese Chriss after falling over in an attempt to catch a long inbound lob. Thanks to the Bleacher Report YouTube channel, we get to take a closer look at the whole fight from two angles:
YouTube commenters have jokingly theorized that Serge Ibaka took out his frustration at the “humiliating” loss to the 14th-seed Cavaliers. Others have started to speculate about what Chriss possibly said to set Ibaka off. Of course, Ibaka isn’t exactly known for controlling his temper. Just ask Robin Lopez, Matt Barnes, LaMarcus Aldridge, James Johnson (though to be fair, Johnson threw a punch first), John Wall and Blake Griffin. Even outside the NBA, Serge Ibaka got into it with Luis Scola of Argentina. Obviously, he’s not at all afraid of getting rough, but that’s gotta be a problem at some point, right?
Naturally, as with any internet event, Twitter probably had the best reactions to the fight. See our favorites below!
Man, you gotta love Twitter after an NBA scuffle.
